Blackfeet Air Quality Program

In 1990 the Blackfeet Air Quality Program originated when the Blackfeet Planning Department was awarded an EPA 103 Air Quality Grant.

The Blackfeet Tribal Government realized that it was very important to get involved in the monitoring and regulation of activities that may impact air quality on the Reservation. The Blackfeet Tribe therefore requested assistance from the Environmental Protection Agency for the development of an Air Quality Program.

The main purpose of the Blackfeet Air Quality Program is to formulate and implement air quality policies that are consistent with EPA's air quality standards and regulations. Currently, Blackfeet Air Quality has moved from the 103 to the 105 Air Grant.
